Thank you for continuing to sow seeds into this ministry! We were able to purchase 30 bags of cement and two truckloads of sand for Pastor Margaret’s church in Nkamanzi. Last Saturday our family went to the site to help with the building process. It was great to see some of the youth kids volunteering their time on a hot Saturday afternoon to help mix cement and build their church. We still need $4500 to complete the church building.
A week ago, as we were driving through the rural community, we saw a group of boys playing soccer with a rolled up piece of trash. Caden happened to have a soccer ball in the car. We got out of the car and yelled to the boys. They saw the “golden” soccer ball and started jumping up and down and cheering. Their reaction to a “real” soccer ball was priceless and really made our day. It was great for the kids to see such gratitude for something so simple. One week later, we drove by the same field to see the soccer ball still being played with. We thought it was pretty great to see the ball still there. It was continuing to be used on that field. When the boys saw us, they all waved and smiled excitedly. We decided to get a picture of Caden with the boys, but they were very reluctant fearing we were going to take back their golden soccer ball. We convinced them otherwise so that they would pose for the photo. It was quite funny when one of the boys handed Caden the original “trash ball” to hold in the picture. Caden ended up giving away 3 soccer balls that day and I’m not sure who was more excited, Caden or the boys receiving them?
